I Love Them

I love watching movies. It has always been like that. Ever since my childhood some of the most precious moments in my life have taken place in a cinema (often as the only spectator in the place because I love going to the movies during the day on working days), or in front of my plasma screen at home, or, while travelling the world for exhibitions, lying in bed in a hotel room staring at my laptop screen. I can’t really explain why I love them, I just do. Nor can I explain why I recently decided to visualize my love in a peculiar way – silently, with colours only and some odd comments. I watched seven of my favourite films – City Lights, The Big Lebowsky, Seven Samurai, Rocco fickt Rio (my favourite porn film), Fawlty Towers (The Psychiatrist episode), Amadeus and Amarcord, and while watching them I wrote the scripts for what you can see here now on the seven screens. I know that it is hard to make a sensible connection between a particular colour and a particular time from the time code generator bars. But believe me, in all those hours, minutes, seconds and frames I really did find myself sinking into many different emotional states, and what could be better than a colour for representing the emotions of a movie fan? But because the emotions were sometimes altered by thoughts (not necessarily connected to the movies) spinning through my head, I had to add some words too.
